Toddlers and preschoolers have very little control. When they know what will happen next, they find it comforting just like adults.

Want to start your child out first? There are excellent products for you to show your children what you will do that day or that week. You can use images to help give them a clear idea. For example, after lunch we go to the library in your “plan” for today. Follow the lunch pictures with pictures of your local library. Setting them up with an online calendar that they can access only at a specific time when you are there to check or they have access to the computer may not be the easiest way to develop consistent habits. Every child and family is different. The most important thing is to choose what you think will be most successful in getting your child to start creating documents and schedules at home.
